UWAC 2007 | Not Just Numbers


For our second conference, the theme, “Beyond Numbers: Value Creation Redefined”, emphasized that accounting is not simply about numbers. It aimed to show students that accounting involves analytical and decision making processes which are critical to the future progress of the business, thus creating value.

Lawrence S. Rosen

Principal, Rosen & Associates Limited

Dr. Rosen graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia in 1957. He later attended the University of Washington, where he would obtain both an M.B.A. and Ph.D. Dr. Rosen went on to found Rosen & Associates Limited – a litigation and investigative accounting firm – pursuing his interest within the accounting industry.Dr. Rosen has provided consulting services and independent opinions for hundreds of litigation related engagements. Furthermore, he has presented expert testimony on numerous occasions and in many jurisdictions throughout the country – including the Supreme Courts of British Columbia, Ontario, and Canada. Dr. Rosen has also served as Technical Advisor to three of Canada’s Auditor Generals.
