The University of Waterloo Accounting Conference (UWAC) promotes the accounting profession and provides students with invaluable experiences that would provide them with the knowledge and understanding of the accounting profession. YMA Presents Beyond Brands: Made In Canada Conference on Friday, January 22nd, 2010
This year's conference will showcase and celebrate Canadian marketing achievements that have successfully addressed our country's unique market. Participants will be able to network with students from across Ontario and company representatives. The outline of the event includes four keynote speakers and three interactive breakout sessions. Participants will learn from Canadian success stories such as Cineplex, P&G, Interbrand, Scotiabank and Capital C.
The Early Bird price is $50 for non-members. After January 11th until the conference date, the ticket prices will increase.

Hopefully all of you are currently studying for exams or finishing up a co-op term. For those on campus, best of luck in all your courses! Exam period can be quite stressful, but make sure to finish strong before the winter holidays. As you may already know, delegate registration will begin in January, so keep out on the lookout for that!
UWAC would like to introduce its first keynote speaker for the 2010 conference: Colleen Johnston, Chief Financial Officer of TD Bank Financial Group! Currently, she oversees external financial reporting, investor relations, and tax management at the company. In the past, she has worked at Price Waterhouse and Scotiabank, filling various roles that have provided her with experience in a broad range of functions. As a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA), she will be able to bring unique insights to delegates about both accounting and finance. We look forward to having her speak to the delegates!
